Profhilo & Seventy Hyal Skin Boosters
What is Profhilo?
A revolutionary 'beneath the skin' hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment.
This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected it stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.
Not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodelling ageing and sagging tissue.
What is Seventy Hyal?
Seventy Hyal 2000 is a bio-stimulating skin booster that is intended to improve hydration levels within the skin for a luminous-looking complexion. Simultaneously, this skin booster stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin. Ultimately, Seventy Hyal 2000 aims to inject a radiant glow into the skin, creating a youthful-looking appearanceWhat areas can be treated?
The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity.
What is the difference between skin boosters and Fillers?
Skin boosters and dermal fillers, whilst both containing hyaluronic acid (HA) as the main ingredient, are not interchangeable when it comes to offering skin ageing treatments; they behave in different ways. Skin boosters are not cross-linked so are usually much thinner in consistency and therefore, have a greater spread. Generally, skin boosters can be used to soften fine lines, hydrate, and improve the texture and condition of the skin. Dermal fillers on the other hand are generally used when volumisation, contouring, or augmentation is required in specific areas of the face such as cheeks or lips.Who is the treatment suitable for?
The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.
It has grown in popularity in recent years as it helps to feed and nourish the skin as well as encouraging it to heal itself from within.
Rather than applying creams and lotions which only reach so far, liquid injectable moisturiser reaches deep into the dermis, doesn’t paralyze muscles like Botox and does not produce excessive volume within the skin, as dermal fillers do.
How does it work?
Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, it stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin.
As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid.
The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement.
Skin boosters also have a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
Acting as a hydrator rather than a filler. It is injected just under the surface of the skin, where it disperses quickly (due to the lack of BDDE cross-linking agent) and reacts with your own tissues to instantly boost hydration. Over the following 4 weeks, phase 2 will boost collagen and elastin production within the dermis. This helps to give the skin a youthful, plump, smooth and firm appearance.
What areas can be treated?
This treatment can be used to rejuvenate the face, neck area, décolleté and hands. How many sessions will I need?
Works in a course of 2 or 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart. On the face, only 5 injection points are necessary on each side of the face to give maximum results.
Can I combine it with Botox and filler?
Yes, skin boosters can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other dermal fillers, laser treatments or Botox as part of a holistic approach to skin remodelling and revitalisation.
They work amazing alongside Botox, as the Botox is a prevention for fine lines and wrinkles and skin boosters help to hydrate, firm, tighten and refresh the skin to ease fine lines and wrinkles that may already be present.
Does it hurt?
As they are injected just under the skin using very fine needles in pre-determined points, it is relatively painless; you may feel a short sting or scratch, but this is short-lived. Patients can opt for topical pain relief or anaesthetic before treatment, but it is usually not needed.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime. However, it’s advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication in the 24 hours prior to the treatment. Vitamin C and Vitamin E can also increase the likelihood of bruising, but it is fine to use 48 hours after.
Immediately afterwards, it’s important to avoid wearing make-up and strenuous exercise such as going to the gym, swimming or extreme sports and hot steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.
You will need to avoid excessive sunlight for 48 hours after and wear a high SPF sunscreen.
It’s important to know that if you expose your skin to the sun, this will only have a detrimental effect on your skin quality and hydration. Investing in good habits such as wearing SPF and a wide-brimmed hat when going into extreme sunlight, as well as having regular treatments such as Profhilo will help your skin hugely, in the long-run.
Are there any risks or side-effects?
There are no long-term side-effects with Profhilo as it is metabolised by the body completely. The risk of any allergic reaction is substantially reduced due to the lack of any synthetic chemicals such as BDDE.
Some people can experience some redness, slight bruising, tenderness and possible itching at the injection sites, but these will subside in a few hours to a day and is totally natural.
How long does it take to see results?
Results should begin to show instantly with optimal results showing after 2 weeks. How long do results last?
Results can last anything from 6 to 12 months, depending on your individual reaction and metabolism of the product, but we recommend patients to return for a single maintenance treatment, every 3 months. This keeps the skin in exceptional condition.
