What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation cosmetic procedure that gently abrades the top layers of the skin, using a surgical blade.

The procedure aims to increase the absorption of skincare /topical products and diminish fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment stimulates collagen synthesis and creates a healthy glow and a radiant complexion.

Dermaplane aims to make your skins surface smooth, youthful and radiant. It is also used to remove “peach fuzz” the short soft vellus non terminal hair from your face. Dermaplaning removes up to 3 x times more dead skin cells than a microdermabrasion treatment.

How often should I have a Dermaplane?

For optimal results, we recommend having a Dermaplane treatment every 4 weeks. This timing aligns perfectly with your hair growth cycle and your skin's natural regeneration process, ensuring a smooth, radiant complexion each time. Regular sessions help to maintain exfoliation, prevent buildup of dead skin cells, and keep fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) at bay, enhancing the effectiveness of your skincare products. Will my hair grow back darker?

No, there are two types of hair on the body. Vellus hair - short, fine, light-colored and there is terminal hair, terminal hair is the thick, long, pigmented hair found on the scalp, face, armpits, and pubic area.

The growth of terminal hair is influenced by hormones. The hair can only grow back how it was before.

What are the benefits?

  • Your skin is able to deeply absorb and benefit from a chemical peel in a way it can’t at other times.

  • It helps your cleanser and toners penetrate deeper for a better result.

  • Removing the peach fuzz will also help reduce spots, because the hair on your face holds the bacteria on your face, which causes spots.

  • Your skin is exposed daily to harsh environmental toxins, irritants, and sun damage. This can cause the top layer of your skin to appear dull, and it can make you look aged.

  • Dermaplaning clears away those damaged skin cells so newer skin cells are what you see when you look in the mirror.

  • It will make your make up sit more flawless, giving a more airbrushed effect.
